Summertime Dance
Summer has been in full swing weather wise and I am sure many of you are looking forward to some time off to enjoy it as the school holidays approach. We've already had a busy July, filled with bringing dance to various groups across a wide age range.

After having to rearrange twice to try and beat the heatwave, we were able to lead a gentle and joy filled wellbeing dance workshop at the Chiltern Open Air Museum's summer wellbeing programme. To echo their theme of nature, we focused on water as our stimulus (a little nod to our production Come to the Water).
We spent the afternoon with Year 2's at the Marlow CofE infant school using dance to look at sports as they started their arts week based on the same theme. We learnt about what it means to be professional (in work and in life) and about working together as a team before learning a short dance.
Our director Liezl had the privilege of leading a warmup at the Buckinghamshire Keep Fit Association's annual general meeting held at the Weston Turville Village Hall. Such a joy moving with others who have been in the fitness and dance industry for up to 60 years - don't let anyone ever tell you that you are too old to dance. You can learn more about the KFA and find a class near you on their website.

News and Updates

Moving Mothers
We had the great privilege to work with mums in Aylesbury alongside Intentional Parenting CIC throughout May and June on our Moving Mothers projects. Generously funded by Aylesbury Town Council. We worked with 12 women across 5 sessions, using contemporary dance to move, express and create a short dance piece, thinking about the theme of 'I am'. Sessions were held at Queens Park Arts Centre, and many of the mums have never been there or tried contemporary dance before. The pilot project culminated at the Aylesbury on Sea festival at the end of June where our dance facilitators performed the piece and invited audience members to join in. We are so proud of everyone who attended! We hope to continue this project in October.
Performances in Spring
Spring was a busy time for us with three different performance projects taking place: Fisheye Fusion at Fisheye Film Festival (we told you more about this in our previous newsletter). Rewilding our cities - a collaboration with Ferio Saxophone Quartet at the Chiltern Arts Festival in Henley-on-Thames. A new solo, 'Everything I've Ever Done' performed alongside Art and Soul Dance Theatre at the Chesham Fringe.
